Mortgage Investors Group was founded in 1989 as the vision of Presidents Chrissi Rhea and Chuck Tonkin. The company began with only seven employees, five of whom are currently employed by the company. Now with over 200 employees, Mortgage Investors Group has become one of the largest privately-owned mortgage lenders in Tennessee. Since our company's inception, their mission has been clear: to provide the best mortgage solution for their customer's home financing needs. And, they've done just that. Mortgage Investors Group continues to close more home loans in east Tennessee than any other mortgage lender.
2005 was a record breaking year for Mortgage Investors Group, closing over $1.7 billion in home loans. The company has been recognized by THDA for the past three years as the top producer for first time homebuyers programs. While the company's home office is located in Knoxville, the Manchester Branch was opened June 1, 2000 by Helen DeBellis and now boasts 15 retail branches across Tennessee.
As a Knoxville-based company, Mortgage Investors Group is empowered to make all company-related decisions internally. The home office includes underwriting, closing, post closing and secondary marketing departments. Their focus on the practical use of technology has earned the company a position of leadership in the mortgage industry.
